With 25 years’ experience in the R&D of tyre industries, he is currently heading the R&D for TBR tyres in Apollo Tyres Global R & D centre, Chennai. With this group, his research aims include developing formulations for green tyre tread with nano/ micro nanocellulose and modified silica to achieve good mechanical properties and low rolling resistance. He also aims to study the effect of conducting polymers, conductive carbon black, and graphene on improving the antistatic properties without compromising rolling resistance, wet traction & hysteresis properties of the compound. He had completed his MTech in Polymer Technology at Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1996. He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Trichy. He is a Member of the Indian Rubber Institute (IRI), affiliated technical organization of Rubber division, American Chemical Society (ACS), Akron, USA, and an executive committee member of the IRI Chennai branch.
